We have a small farm that is currently limited to housing only
one to two women.
However, we also work with several other women who do not live on the property.
We have plans to build a house that will include better accommodations and have
hopes of some small cabins to house more women in the future.
We live a very
simple life and use the daily life of the farm
to incorporate many skills into
the ladies lives.
Mostly it just brings out the skills they already have
and
gives us a chance to develop and encourage them.
They also learn much about
reprioritizing, goal setting,
separating "needs" from "wants" and making
choices.
Her responsibilities on the farm:
She starts out each day with
quiet time for prayer
and ends it with time for Bible study and journaling.
Each morning after breakfast she has responsibilities
of caring for the animals
(feed, water, cleaning, etc.).
The well-being of certain animals become her
responsibility.
She is to be sure they are protected, healthy
and observe any
changes that are needed for their care.
Greater supervision and guidance are
provided in the beginning,
and less as she takes more "ownership" in the farm.
We have a garden area that produces year round.
We grow as many of our own
vegetables as possible.
She learns more about the land and equipment
and has the
opportunity to experiment and develop her green thumb.
One of the principles we
teach is that no matter how little
you may have, there is always someone who has
less.
Organic vegetables are a luxury these days. A big part
of the joy of
gardening is producing enough to share with others.
We believe in the value of
hard work.
The Bible says
"If a man will not work, then he will not
eat."
(2 Thessalonians 3:10).
If a lady is not serious about that u
turn
(repentance)
Restoration 31 is not the place for her.
It requires
dedication, hard work, commitment,
sacrifice and many difficult choices.
She
does the hard part.
It is our desire to guide
and support her in her journey,
as
well as hold her accountable.
We are committed to helping her
become well
established
in the new path she has chosen.
We love giving tours of U-Turn ranch to home schooled
children, organizations, churches, businesses etc.
E-mail us with a contact name and number and we will
schedule a date and time.
